About the role
This role involves monitoring, sustaining, and improving equipment and/or processes in the assigned area at GlobalFoundries' Malta site Fab 8, a 300mm semiconductor manufacturing facility.
What you'll do
- Monitor equipment performance and schedule maintenance for assigned tool sets.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment per operating procedures.
- Use mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment-related issues.
- Recover equipment from process interruptions and complete event documentation.
- Communicate equipment status and area updates to the Lead Tech and/or Engineer.
What you'll need
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- 2-year technical degree OR 2 years of relevant military experience OR 4 years of relevant experience (automotive repair, BOCES, HVAC, aviation, cable installation, computer routing, telecommunications, electrical work, etc).
- Basic reading and writing comprehension skills.
- Basic computer navigation skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook).
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment wearing required clean room clothing per semiconductor protocol/requirements.
Nice to have
- Associate degree in engineering technology, military equivalent, trade equivalent, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ Years of direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Ability to read and comprehend schematics / blueprints / electrical diagrams.
- Experience utilizing basic hand tools and quality workmanship principles.
- Experience with troubleshooting and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Basic understanding of the principles of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
