About the role
As a Product Support Engineer 4 at Lam Research, you will provide technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex electro-mechanical equipment, computer systems, and software. You will manage tool-down escalations and deliver performance improvement solutions for Lam semiconductor processing equipment in clean room environments at customer sites.
What you'll do
- Deliver remote response and on-site support to analyze, troubleshoot, and manage tool-down escalations for Lam semiconductor processing equipment. - Formulate root cause hypotheses, analysis, and action plans with detailed problem statements, data analysis, and success criteria. - Act as a subject matter expert and liaise between customers and Product Groups to drive issue resolution and prevent repeat problems. - Mentor field and account engineers and design or conduct technical training sessions. - Collect and analyze hands-on and installed-base performance data to identify improvement opportunities across customer sites. - Participate in the worldwide technical community to share technical knowledge.
What you'll need
- PhD with 3+ years, MS/Engineering degree with 6+ years, or BS with 8+ years of relevant work experience. - Ability to read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals. - Experience delivering remote and on-site escalation support and troubleshooting complex technical problems across electro-mechanical equipment. - Ability to work in a clean room environment wearing personal protective equipment, and sit or stand for prolonged periods. - Willingness to work flexible shifts, on-call schedules (nights, weekends, holidays), and travel domestically and internationally based on business need.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with the SW structure and troubleshooting from the Control Works level. - Familiarity with Analog-to-Digital I/O devices (IOC, SIOC, EIOC) and how they interact with the Tool Platform SW Package. - Knowledge of directory structure and methods to troubleshoot the structure.
