About the role
Provide technical support for field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex electro-mechanical equipment, computer systems, software, and networked systems.
What you'll do
- Provide support to customers and internal field teams where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature.
- Provide quality remote and on-site escalation support and escalation management.
- Formulate root cause hypothesis, analysis, and action plans with detailed problem statements, data analysis, and success criteria.
- Act as technical mentor for field and account engineers and design or conduct training sessions.
- Participate in the worldwide technical community to share knowledge and enhance technical learning.
What you'll need
- PhD with 3+ years of relevant work experience; MS or Engineering degree with 6+ years of work experience; or BS with 8+ years of work experience.
- Ability to understand and work from electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and interpret operation manuals.
- Experience formulating root cause hypotheses, problem statements, and data analysis plans using computer applications and data analysis tools.
- Ability to work in a constrictive clean room environment wearing personal protective safety equipment, with flexibility for on-call, night, weekend, holiday shifts, and domestic/international travel.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with the SW structure and ability to troubleshoot from the Control Works level.
- Acquaintance with Analog-to-Digital I/O devices (IOC, SIOC, EIOC) and their interaction with the Tool Platform SW Package.
- Knowledge of the directory structure and ability to troubleshoot the structure.
- Experience communicating with customers at a technical level to influence action plans.
