The Precision Meso-scale Technology Center (PMTC) provides high-precision mechanical solutions that enable RF, microwave, and mmWave hardware.
About the role
The Product Engineer owns a mechanical product family end-to-end within the Precision Meso-scale Technology Center (PMTC), linking the NPI team, process engineering, metrology, and Keysight product lines. The role focuses on high-precision mechanical solutions supporting RF, microwave, mmWave, and 5G/6G measurement equipment.
What you'll do
- Own product-family yield end-to-end, including first-pass yield, scrap, rework, cost of poor quality across all process blocks, and implementation of SPC on critical-to-quality features. - Pareto top losses, lead cross-process RCCA using 8D and DMAIC methodologies, accept NPI-to-production handoffs, and drive yield maturation to target. - Maintain accountability for drawing conformance, GD&T, and AS9100 / ISO 9001 compliance from first article through sustaining production, leading NCM / MRB disposition, containment, and CAR / CAPA closure. - Initiate and manage engineering release, waiver, and deviation requests while delivering DFM and inspectability feedback on new drawings and revisions. - Serve as the primary technical contact for product lines and R&D regarding quality events, recovery plans, and production outside service processing (OSP) qualification.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience. - 5+ years in precision machining or precision mechanical component manufacturing in a product, quality, manufacturing, or sustaining engineering role. - Working command of GD&T and measurement methods for machined features, including CMM, optical inspection, and surface profilometry. - Hands-on structured problem-solving experience with 8D, RCCA, DMAIC, and FMEA. - Experience analyzing yield and SPC data using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Minitab, or JMP. - Proven experience presenting quality events, root cause analysis, and recovery plans to customers or program managers.
