About the role
This role is for a Product Applications Engineer to develop new applications, support customer requests, and develop new products at Veeco's Phoenix location. The position involves discovering new opportunities for adding value through new product development or existing product enhancements around core technology.
What you'll do
- Engage with customers to develop applications and performance processes on laser anneal tools, driving relevant laser learning and demos.
- Develop and maintain best known methods (BKM) for process control, process development, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a working knowledge of laser anneal systems process, hardware, and relevant diagnostics to enhance system performance.
- Solve process problems in straightforward situations, collaborating with service and engineering teams for solutions.
- Present technical aspects of products to customers and sales channels.
- Provide on-the-job training, education, and assistance to team members and customers.
- Work as a member of a cross-functional team with service, sales, and product lines to support revenue.
- Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system.
What you'll need
- BS Degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; MS and 3 years of experience or a PhD degree and 2 years of related experience.
- Ability to travel to the USA and other locations up to 30% of the time.
Nice to have
- Semiconductor device knowledge and module process, process integration experience in logic and/or memory fabrication.
- Understanding of Rapid Thermal Processing (RTP)/Implant process.
- Experience in customer management.
