About the role
This role involves the shared responsibility for the design and development of fiber optic transceivers, including analysis, modeling, simulation, and measurement of optical and electrical performance.
What you'll do
- Design and develop fiber optic transceivers, from conception to volume manufacturing readiness.
- Analyze, model, simulate, and measure optical and electrical performance of transceivers.
- Collaborate with firmware, optical, mechanical, and process engineers to meet customer requirements.
- Conduct hands-on conceptual and detailed design, prototype build, verification, and final design selection.
- Create drawings, BOMs, and ECOs to document designs.
- Perform transceiver design reviews for Architectural, EVT, and DVT phases.
What you'll need
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong analog circuit design skills.
- In-depth understanding of RF/microwave, power, noise, control, thermal, and EMI.
- Strong understanding of circuit theory, linear system theory, feedback, ICs, and high-speed fundamentals.
- Strong laboratory measurement skills.
- Experience with board level design cycle.
- Experience with electronics CAD tools and electronic system modelling.
Nice to have
- M.S. preferred, Ph.D. a plus.
- Expertise in RF/microwave design using modeling tools such as CST or HFSS.
- Understanding of microprocessors and real time control firmware.
- Familiarity with electro-optic devices such as EMLs, CW lasers, and Silicon Photonics.
