About the role

This Principal Product Engineer role is within the Virtual Protocols Product Engineering Team, responsible for field readiness and customer deployment of Transaction Based Acceleration and Virtual Emulation-based System Verification products. The role focuses on System Level Software Driven Verification use models utilizing protocol engines operating on Cadence Palladium and Protium emulation platforms.

What you'll do

- Partner with R&D, field teams, and key customers to identify product requirements, define features, and deliver product feedback. - Support Cadence VirtualBridge products connecting virtual machines running production operating systems with customer SoC designs on Palladium and Protium platforms using OS, kernel, and driver software expertise. - Drive requirements and deployment for protocol products across standards including PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, USB, and AMBA. - Develop, maintain, and deliver feature-based technical training for new products and capabilities to field teams and customers. - Demonstrate product performance, debugging capabilities, and functionality value for field and marketing engagements.

What you'll need

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with at least 7 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with at least 5 years of related experience. - Software development background in C/C++, Object Oriented programming, or Linux Kernel/Driver Development. - Experience with HDL languages, including SystemVerilog or VHDL. - Proficiency with scripting languages such as shell, Python, or Perl, alongside compiler tools including make and gcc/g++. - Knowledge of verification methodologies, such as UVM SystemVerilog, Virtual Prototyping SystemC, or Portable Stimulus.

Nice to have

- Experience with protocols such as PCIe, CXL, Ethernet, USB, or AMBA. - Hardware emulation experience. - SoC design and verification experience.
