About the role
As a Principal Power Architect (Product Definition) at Renesas Electronics, you will be responsible for delivering power efficiency and density solutions for datacenter products serving AI customers. You will work directly with customers and cross-functional engineering teams to define power product roadmaps for high-current platforms.
What you'll do
- Interface directly with customer systems engineers to identify platform requirements, challenges, and value drivers. - Analyze voltage regulator approaches to determine system-level fit from the customer perspective. - Build collateral and executive summary material to support engagements with senior leadership and key customers. - Engage cross-functionally with marketing, design, packaging, applications, FW, and SW teams throughout product execution. - Maintain key customer relationships to secure early market visibility and drive proposals to revenue.
What you'll need
- 10+ years of multi-disciplinary experience in the semiconductor industry. - Bachelor's degree in engineering. - Understanding of power architecture and product types related to CPUs and other high-current ASICs. - Experience with multiphase voltage regulators (VRs) or other datacenter-related power products. - Technical knowledge of magnetics design, passive component selection, and power device driver challenges. - Experience defining power products for data centers or customer applications, including embedded SoCs and collaboration across HW, FW, and SW.
Nice to have
- Master's degree or higher in power engineering. - Experience with high-level modeling tools like SIMPLIS.
