About the role
As a Principal PCIe Application Engineer, you will lead validation efforts for SSD controller ASICs from development through production. This role drives validation strategy and solves complex system challenges.
What you'll do
- Lead ASIC validation activities from pre-silicon FPGA development through product qualification and production release.
- Develop and implement validation plans covering functional, performance, power, reliability, and system-level testing.
- Perform post-silicon bring-up, debug, and root-cause analysis across PCIe, NVMe, DDR, NAND/ONFI, and firmware subsystems.
- Build automation frameworks, validation tools, and test infrastructure.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in ASIC/SoC validation, SSD controller development, storage systems, or firmware development.
- Strong knowledge of SSD controller architecture, system-level validation, and high-speed interfaces including PCIe, NVMe, DDR, and NAND/ONFI.
- Hands-on experience with FPGA validation, post-silicon bring-up, silicon debug, ASIC verification, or validation.
- Proficiency in Python, Perl, Shell, or similar scripting languages.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with SSD controller firmware architecture, NAND flash technologies, enterprise SSDs, and storage system optimization.
- Experience with ARC-based SoC firmware development, protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, FPGA prototyping, and post-silicon debug tools.
- Success leading validation programs for complex ASIC or storage controller products through production and customer support phases.
- Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code to develop or verify code and improve validation efficiency.
