Own mixed-signal architecture and circuit design for critical HBM and DRAM high-speed I/O and PHY subsystems.
Originally posted 4 November 2026 by the employer.
About the role
The Principal Mixed Signal Design Engineer defines and owns mixed-signal architecture for critical HBM and DRAM subsystems. The technical focus centers on high-speed I/O, PHY circuits, clocking (PLL/DLL), data path analog front-ends, and voltage regulation.
What you'll do
- Define and own mixed-signal architecture for HBM and DRAM subsystems, including high-speed I/O, PHY circuits, PLL/DLL clocking, and data path analog front-ends.
- Lead the design of mixed-signal and analog circuits, including high-speed serializers/deserializers, drivers, sense amplifiers, and clock/data recovery circuits.
- Drive architectural tradeoffs across performance, bandwidth, latency, power, area, reliability, and product family scalability.
- Guide verification strategy for mixed-signal blocks using AMS, behavioral models, and silicon correlation.
- Drive post-silicon bring-up, characterization, and debug while ensuring designs meet reliability, aging, EM/IR, and noise targets.
- Apply AI/ML-assisted design methodologies to improve circuit analysis, simulation efficiency, failure triage, and design optimization workflows.
What you'll need
- Experience defining mixed-signal architecture and driving trade-offs across bandwidth, latency, power, area, and reliability.
- Hands-on expertise designing high-speed I/O, PHY circuits, PLL/DLL clocking, serializers/deserializers, and data path analog front-ends (TX/RX, equalization, termination).
- Proficiency in mixed-signal verification methodologies, including AMS, behavioral modeling, and pre-silicon validation.
- Experience with post-silicon bring-up, characterization, and debugging of memory or high-speed interface circuits.
- Knowledge of reliability, aging, functional safety targets, EM/IR, noise, and variation tolerance in silicon.

How we counted: 160 open Mixed-Signal Design (Mixed Signal) roles from 40 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 4 Nov 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Analog & Mixed-Signal family row.
