About the role
This role contributes to and drives the design, development, qualification, and life cycle sustaining of PCBA and system-level hardware used in Ethernet and network communication test equipment products.
What you'll do
- Lead the design and development of board-level and system-level hardware projects for telecommunications-related test platforms. - Collaborate with managers and architects in setting overall technical direction. - Lead the development of functional, design, and test specification documents. - Perform high-level design, implementation, hardware bring-up, integration, and validation of PCBA and system-level hardware. - Collaborate with CAD, NPI, and manufacturing teams to deliver development hardware to production, providing engineering support over the product lifecycle. - Identify and track design issues, perform troubleshooting root cause analysis, and deploy corrective actions.
What you'll need
- BSEE with 15+ years or MSEE with 10+ years of experience in board-level design and development of digital systems. - Experience with the Cadence Allegro PCB design suite, including Orcad Schematic Capture tools. - Experience implementing designs using high-density FPGAs, embedded processors, DDR4/5 DRAM, and physical media devices. - Knowledge of power distribution and thermal management systems. - Strong knowledge of digital systems and PCBA-level design for signal integrity. - Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment, including digital oscilloscopes, TDRs, network analyzers, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers. - Knowledge of telecommunications standards and network communications protocols, including PHY layer, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.
Nice to have
- General analog design experience and mechanical design experience. - Experience with VHDL, C programming, Python, and TCL.
