About the role
This role involves designing and validating power electronics systems for motor drive hardware and high-power inverters.
What you'll do
- Architect and design motor drive hardware, PFC, and high-power inverters (MOSFET/IGBT/GaN/SiC).
- Perform PCB Layout using tools like Cadence Allegro or Altium Designer.
- Lead prototype bring-up, system bench testing, and fault isolation.
- Integrate hardware boards with motor control firmware and physical motors (BLDC and PMSM).
- Lead design reviews, author technical specifications, and mentor junior hardware engineers.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field with 8+ years of hands-on experience designing motor drive hardware and high-power electronic circuits.
- Deep understanding of 3-phase inverter topologies, gate driver design, field-oriented control (FOC) hardware dependencies, and current sensing methodologies (shunt vs. Hall/LEM).
- Proven track record of high power PCB layouts.
- Basic understanding of MCU and FW to aid in collaborative debugging.
Nice to have
- Experience with wide-bandgap (WBG) semiconductors (GaN or SiC).
- Hands-on experience with EMI/EMC troubleshooting.
