About the role
As a Principal Engineer – IQ Operations Focus at ASM, you will provide senior technical and operational leadership for installation qualification activities supporting the Intel Arizona Field Service organization. This role drives disciplined execution of IQ schedules, resource plans, operational reporting, data governance, and cross-functional business processes across Field Service management, installation teams, Global Operations, and customer stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Coordinate installation qualification (IQ) operational activities across supported Tier-1 customer modules, maintaining visibility over schedules, milestones, dependencies, and resource requirements. - Develop project plans, readiness checkpoints, labor scenarios, risk registers, action ownership, and recovery plans for priority semiconductor tools. - Support IQCD reviews and provide clear updates regarding tool status, parts constraints, qualification progress, and resource gaps. - Collect, consolidate, and validate operational data supporting IQ performance, chamber status, IQ cost, safety metrics, and related KPIs. - Build, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, Power Apps, SharePoint, and Excel reporting environments to ensure decision-ready presentation and data governance. - Support service-order execution and activity tracking utilizing SAP, SAP S/4HANA, WFM, and Field Service Management systems.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of experience in semiconductor field service, capital equipment, manufacturing, technical operations, project management, or a related environment. - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, materials science, operations, information systems, business, project management, or equivalent technical education and directly relevant semiconductor experience. - Demonstrated experience coordinating complex installation, qualification, or operational projects in a customer-facing environment. - Advanced Power BI and Excel capability, including dashboard development, data validation, visualization, KPI reporting, reconciliation, pivot tables, and lookup functions. - Experience utilizing Power Apps and SharePoint for workflow management, status tracking, process documentation, and data governance. - Working knowledge of SAP or a major ERP/MRP platform.
Nice to have
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Field Service Management, or WFM. - Experience supporting IQ project leadership and resource planning in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment. - Demonstrated capabilities in data-driven decision making, process standardization, and continuous improvement.
