About the role
Provide technical support for optical network transmission and transport products serving North American and European customers. The role spans customer trials, field issue root cause analysis, technical documentation, and feedback into R&D for optical communication technologies.
What you'll do
- Provide technical support on customer inquiries, investigate field issues, conduct root cause analysis, and handle RMA support. - Collaborate with PLM, Quality, and R&D teams to review product specifications and deliver real-world feedback for product development. - Plan, review, and execute pre-testing and testing protocols for customer demonstrations, trials, and lab evaluations both remotely and on-site. - Deliver new product installation and operation training to front-line customer support teams and author customer installation and operating documentation. - Maintain formal issue tracking from creation through resolution, while participating in a 7x24 on-call support rotation.
What you'll need
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics. - 8+ years of working experience in optical communication companies as a technical support engineer/manager, development engineer, or system verification engineer. - Hands-on experience with coherent optical transceivers, DWDM, OTN, optical network architectures, and network management protocols. - Demonstrated experience using and troubleshooting network management systems. - Ability to travel 25% to 33% of the time to support customer sites and lab trials.
Nice to have
- Experience coding Python scripts. - Experience in product development.
