About the role
The Principal EDA Engineer provides technical leadership for global engineering compute infrastructure and design-data-management environments across distributed teams. The role centers on Perforce Helix and Methodics IPLM methodologies, project workspace configurations, and infrastructure automation.
What you'll do
- Provide technical leadership and requirements definition for Linux-based engineering compute, storage, and CAD environments. - Direct technical ownership and methodology for Perforce Helix and IPLM-based design data management, covering IP creation, versioning, release, and reuse for analog and digital workflows. - Develop and support standardized project workspace setups, including EDA tool configuration, environment variables, and Cadence setup. - Build Python and shell-based automation utilities to streamline data-management workflows and engineering project administration. - Formulate methodologies to migrate legacy design data and environments toward unified Perforce and IPLM platforms. - Create technical documentation, deliver training, and provide escalation support for complex CAD and data-management issues.
What you'll need
- Significant experience in EDA/CAD engineering, semiconductor design infrastructure, or engineering compute environments. - Strong Linux/Unix knowledge and understanding of engineering compute, storage, and data-management architectures. - Experience with Perforce Helix (P4) or comparable enterprise version-control and data-management technologies. - Methodics IPLM or equivalent IP lifecycle-management experience. - Experience with semiconductor EDA workflows and engineering project support. - Strong Python and/or shell scripting skills.
