Lead customer hardware support and platform enablement for server processor SoCs across DDR, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, and Ethernet interfaces.
About the role
Serve as the customer engineering technical interface between strategic customers—including hyperscalers, OEMs, and ODMs—and internal product teams to launch and sustain server processor SoCs. In this founding role, you will lead hardware support across design, bring-up, and validation while helping shape the server CE team.
What you'll do
- Lead hardware support for strategic customers adopting server processor SoCs across design, bring-up, validation, and deployment phases. - Perform detailed reviews of customer schematics, PCB layouts, thermal designs, power delivery networks, and signal integrity plans. - Support SoC interface validation and debug across DDR, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, Ethernet, and other high-speed interfaces. - Collaborate with internal design, systems, validation, and software teams to address technical challenges and resolve customer feedback. - Use reference platforms and platform implementation guides to assist customer system design and deliver technical documentation. - Help shape the server customer engineering team and serve as a technical leader as the team scales.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience (or Master's with 7+ years, or PhD with 6+ years). - Experience reviewing schematics, PCB layouts, power delivery networks, and signal integrity plans. - Experience with SoC interface validation and debug across high-speed interfaces such as DDR, PCIe, CXL, or Ethernet. - Track record of technical hardware support for customers through design, bring-up, and validation phases.
Nice to have
- 10 years of experience in server platform design, bring-up, or customer-facing technical roles, including supporting hyperscalers, OEMs, or ODMs. - Deep understanding of high-speed board design principles including DDR5, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, SerDes, Ethernet, PDN design, SI/PI simulation and debug, and EMI/EMC mitigation. - Experience with system bring-up and debug tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and BERTs. - Familiarity with system firmware (UEFI, BMC, BIOS) interactions during hardware validation. - Exposure to server platform compliance and interoperability standards (e.g., OCP, JEDEC, PCI-SIG) or standardization efforts (e.g., OCP NIC 3.0, Open Compute Server specs). - Programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, shell) to aid automation or debug. - Familiarity with SoC integration, silicon debug, or validation experience, as well as AI/ML, HPC, or cloud workload requirements.
