Optimize parallel algorithms and core architectures for high performance computing, machine learning, and AI workloads on NVIDIA GPUs.
About the role
You will guide software-hardware co-design and optimize performance across current and future NVIDIA GPU architectures.
What you'll do
- Perform in-depth analysis and optimization to maximize performance on NVIDIA GPUs. - Create and optimize core parallel algorithms, data structures, and reference codes for GPU architectures. - Analyze the interplay of hardware and software architectures across core algorithms, programming models, and applications. - Document and publish technical results through white papers, conference publications, official blog posts, and patent applications.
What you'll need
- MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. - 12+ years of relevant work experience. - Solid mathematical foundation in linear algebra and numerical methods. - Hands-on experience with massively parallel GPU programming models such as CUDA or OpenCL. - Strong knowledge of C and C++ alongside solid understanding of software design, programming techniques, and algorithms. - Experience benchmarking, profiling, and characterizing workloads on GPU and CPU clusters.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with APIs for multi-node communication such as MPI or OpenSHMEM/NVSHMEM. - Familiarity with threading APIs for multicore CPUs and Unix-style Inter-process Communication (IPC) APIs. - Familiarity with Python.

How we counted: 475 open SoC/Chip Architecture (SOC Architecture) roles from 66 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 21 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Digital Design & Verification family row.
