Design physical layer ICs for high-speed optical fiber data communication.

About the role

This role involves developing multi-tens of GHz optical and electrical receiver and transmitter chips. You will contribute to the design and validation of FinFET CMOS and BiCMOS circuits for high-speed broadband ICs.

What you'll do

  • Design active circuits in both CMOS and BiCMOS technologies.
  • Design high-performance broadband analog and mixed-signal circuits for electrical and optical receiver and transmitter front ends.
  • Design various analog circuits including linear regulators, AGC loops, current/voltage sensors, and bandgaps.
  • Collaborate with other functional groups for post-silicon validation, qualification, transition to mass production, and customer support.

What you'll need

  • BSc degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of industry experience or MSc/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience in designing analog and mixed-signal circuits including CTLEs, TIAs, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, Filters, Bandgap bias circuits, and regulators in either FinFET CMOS or SiGe BiCMOS technologies.
  • Proven experience in high-performance receiver design including both chip tapeout and lab evaluation.
  • Solid experience using EDA CAD tools.
  • Experience performing analog custom layout.
  • Experience in measuring IC performance and debugging design to correlate simulations to measurements.
  • Deep understanding of detailed transistor level design, device physics, and control/feedback loop stability analysis.

Nice to have

  • Direct project experience in automatic gain-control loops.
  • Direct project experience in high precision analog circuits including linear regulators, current sensors, bandgaps, and DAC/ADC.
  • Direct project experience in continuous-time linear equalizers.
  • Experience in package-system integration issues.

Skills: FinFET CMOS, BiCMOS circuits, high-speed broadband ICs, TIAs, ADCs, DACs, PLLs
