About the role
The Physical AI Distinguished Solutions Architect is an individual contributor role within Lattice's Architecture organization focused on product strategy for Physical AI solutions across humanoid robots, cobots, AMRs, UAVs, medical robotics, and drones. The role architects how FPGAs connect to GPUs and XPUs for sensor aggregation, perception, actuation control, safety, and edge AI inference.
What you'll do
- Define and own the technical solution narrative for physical AI end markets, translating customer requirements into FPGA insertion opportunities with robotics OEMs. - Architect technical solutions demonstrating how FPGAs bridge sensors, actuators, and real-time control systems to GPU and XPU compute platforms. - Architect distributed, deterministic control across multi-node robotic systems and advise on partitioning workloads across accelerators, CPUs, MCUs, and FPGAs. - Develop architecture for real-time control systems including whole-body control, motion planning, sensor fusion, and sub-millisecond latency control loops. - Define functional safety and security architectures for human-safe operation, applying standards including IEC 61508, ISO 13849, and ISO 10218. - Collaborate with ecosystem partners such as NVIDIA, Green Hills, Wind River, and QNX to build joint reference designs and platforms.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of relevant experience in FPGA, programmable logic, digital computing, embedded silicon software, or robotics and autonomous systems. - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field. - Experience architecting real-time control, sensor fusion, or motion planning systems bridging to GPU/XPU platforms. - Working knowledge of functional safety and security standards such as IEC 61508, ISO 13849, or ISO 10218.
Nice to have
- Graduate degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field.
