About the role
As an Optical Product Test Engineer, you will play a vital role in validating and ensuring the quality of Lumilens’ photonic components, modules, and systems. This position supports both new product introduction (NPI) and volume manufacturing of high-speed photonics products.
What you'll do
- Perform characterization and testing of fiber optic components and modules
- Analyze test results to ensure compliance with performance specifications and quality standards
- Generate comprehensive test reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve product issues
- Design, plan, and conduct optical and fiber testing on components, devices, and systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support NPI and manufacturing ramp
What you'll need
- BS or MS in Engineering, Physics, Optics, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of industry experience in optical or fiber component testing
- Hands-on experience with optical test instruments (e.g., optical spectrum analyzers, power meters, polarization controllers, bit-error-rate testers)
- Familiarity with communication interfaces and test automation tools
- Ability to write or adapt scripts for automation (Python, LabVIEW, Visual Basic; Shell scripting)
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex test data and identify patterns or anomalies
Nice to have
- Prior exposure to photonics, telecom, or high-speed networking systems
