About the role
As an Optical Systems Engineer, you will support the development of advanced optical and optoelectronic systems, contributing across system design, laboratory validation, and product integration.
What you'll do
- Support the design and analysis of optical systems, including lenses, illumination, detectors, lasers, and optomechanical components
- Perform hands-on laboratory work, including optical alignment, characterization, and troubleshooting of prototype systems
- Assist with system modeling and performance analysis using optical simulation and data analysis tools
- Execute engineering experiments, including data collection, analysis, and documentation of results
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration, debugging, and product development
- Contribute to verification, validation, and qualification activities for optical system performance
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience in optical engineering with a focus on developing technical solutions
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Foundational experience with optical systems, photonics, or optoelectronic devices
- Hands-on laboratory experience with optical alignment, measurement, and experimental data collection
- Basic understanding of optical principles such as imaging, diffraction, polarization, and radiometry
- Familiarity with optical design, simulation, or data analysis tools (e.g., Zemax, Code V, MATLAB, Python)
