What you'll do
- Validate and characterize AMD's optical SerDes link functionality and performance against design targets, product requirements, datasheet, and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot optical link issues and determine root cause, providing feedback for design improvements.
- Collaborate with architects, design engineers, and application engineers to validate and characterize optical modules and interfaces.
- Ensure and enhance optical link performance (extinction ratio, TDECQ, eye/BER) over optical channels compliant to relevant industry standards.
- Develop test automations with scripting and programming skills to improve test and data analysis efficiency and coverage.
What you'll need
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

How we counted: 939 open Hardware Systems Engineering (AI ML Hardware) roles from 103 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 9 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Software, Firmware & Systems family row.
