About the role
This role offers hands-on experience working with PAM4 DSP, Coherent DSP, and Coherent optical technologies, emphasizing software/firmware support for customer firmware development and test.
What you'll do
- Work with senior FAEs in helping customer module firmware/software development.
- Help build equipment control script for lab automation test.
- Support lab activities to tune and optimize customer modules for improved performance.
- Participate in product bring-up and evaluation, including initial software setup, TX/RX performance testing, and reproducing/reporting issues.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, FAQs, and internal training materials.
- Assist with customer firmware development: image flashing, configuration, register access, and status/log collection over I²C/ MDIO.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Software, Computer Science, Electronics/electrical/control Engineering, or a related field.
- Comfortable with C and Python; able to write small utilities and read/modify embedded code.
- Strong willingness to learn, effective communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
- Able to commit at least 4-6 months or more.
Nice to have
- Experience with DCA, BERT, or other test equipment.
- Knowledge of signal and power integrity.
- Experience with simulation tools such as ADS or HFSS.
