About the role
As a Technology Development Operations Engineer, you will drive data-informed manufacturing execution and operational performance across technology development programs. This role involves optimizing manufacturing execution, accelerating learning cycles, and supporting breakthrough delivery within Micron's semiconductor fabrication environment, utilizing data analytics, automation, operational planning, and AI-enabled tools.
What you'll do
- Monitor and improve manufacturing performance metrics including WIP, cycle time, throughput, inventory positioning, and operational constraints.
- Analyze manufacturing data, identify root causes of process and operational issues, and develop recommendations to improve line performance and execution efficiency.
- Develop analytics, dashboards, forecasting models, and automation solutions to improve visibility, planning accuracy, and operational decision-making.
- Support starts planning, inventory management, capacity analysis, and risk assessment.
- Collaborate with Technology Development, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Equipment, Process Engineering, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
What you'll need
- 0-2 years of relevant experience through internships, research projects, co-ops, academic projects, or professional experience in manufacturing, operations, industrial engineering, supply chain, process improvement, or analytics.
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Understanding of manufacturing operations including scheduling, inventory management, balancing production demands, workflow optimization, and operational performance metrics.
- Experience with data analysis, statistics, forecasting, root-cause analysis, problem-solving methodologies, and process improvement techniques.
- Proficiency with analytical and visualization tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, or similar platforms.
- Experience using AI-enabled tools and technologies such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, Claude, AI-assisted analytics tools, or similar platforms.
Nice to have
- Experience within semiconductor manufacturing, fabrication operations, technology development, or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of WIP management, cycle time reduction, inventory optimization, learning-cycle acceleration, and milestone-driven manufacturing execution.
- Experience designing experiments, conducting statistical analysis, predictive modeling, forecasting, or scenario planning.
- Experience developing dashboards, automation solutions, workflow improvements, or operational analytics tools.
- Familiarity with UiPath, Power Automate, AI-enabled automation platforms, or other digital transformation technologies.
- Experience preparing executive-level reports, cases, operational reviews, and data-driven recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to identify operational risks, evaluate trade-offs, and implement effective solutions in complex environments.
- Strong interest in applying AI, automation, and digital technologies to improve manufacturing performance and operational excellence.
