Design, layout, and validate millimeter-wave ICs operating at frequencies greater than 30GHz using ADS and Momentum.
About the role
As a MMIC Design Engineer in the Keysight Technology Organization, you will design, layout, and validate millimeter-wave ICs powering electronic measurement instruments. The role focuses on delivering high frequency components using advanced semiconductor processes, comprehensive device modeling, and measurement lab validation.
What you'll do
- Work closely with internal customers to understand and define critical performance parameters and match requirements to advanced semiconductor processes. - Design, layout, and validate millimeter-wave ICs through complete development cycles. - Execute transistor- and diode-level design, physical layout, and verification (DRC, LVS). - Characterize, document, and present results for final designs using lab measurement infrastructure. - Collaborate with engineering teams across device modeling, measurement, and instrument development.
What you'll need
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, with thesis work or relevant industry experience in mm-wave IC design. - At least 3 years of experience working on mm-wave IC design in advanced semiconductor technologies (inclusive of relevant M.S. or Ph.D. work). - Completion of at least one cycle of transistor/diode level design, physical layout, verification (DRC, LVS), and measurement validation. - Direct experience designing multiple types of mm-wave frequency circuits (mixers, amplifiers, multipliers, filters at > 30GHz). - Understanding of devices and their parasitics to address semiconductor process limitations.
Nice to have
- Experience with high power in a single MMIC (> +30dBm). - Experience in system level analysis. - Knowledge in device modelling, thermal design, and IC package design. - Experience in wafer probe calibration and measurements. - Knowledge and experience in thin film and PCB board design. - Experience using ADS, Momentum, EMPro, SystemVue, or equivalent tools.

How we counted: 258 open RF/Wireless Engineering (RF Frontend) roles from 34 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 26 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Analog & Mixed-Signal family row.
