About the role
This role involves operating dual-beam focused ion beam (FIB) tools to prepare and image transmission electron microscopy (TEM) lamellae for integrated circuit (IC) manufacturing products.
What you'll do
- Prepare STEM/TEM samples and image samples in Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) using Thermo Fisher Helios systems.
- Follow lab methodology for STEM sample preparation consistent with quality standards.
- Optimize personal workflow for efficient throughput of samples.
- Communicate with lab management to provide work completion time estimates.
- Provide feedback to lab management for continuous improvement opportunities in lab workflows.
- Protect customer material and IP at all times.
What you'll need
- 2+ years of experience with a BS degree in a physical science, or a specialized AS degree, or equivalent professional training in materials science and analytical techniques.
- Experience operating dual-beam FIB/SEM tools, particularly in the preparation of thin lamellae for STEM or TEM imaging.
- Ability to work a shift schedule.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with key developments and materials in the semiconductor industry.
- Experience with customer IP protection and proper sample handling.
