Focus on the development and optimization of piezo and capacitive MEMS devices within Texas Instruments' Advanced Technology Development (ATD) team.

About the role

This role focuses on the development and optimization of MEMS sensing and actuation devices within Texas Instruments' Advanced Technology Development (ATD) team, emphasizing piezo and capacitive MEMS devices including resonators.

What you'll do

- Execute MEMS device and component layout, FEM simulation, and design optimization. - Drive MEMS process integration, fabrication evaluation, and electrical and physical characterization. - Partner with fab, manufacturing, reliability, PDK, and packaging teams to ensure device manufacturability, reliability, and product capability. - Lead failure root-cause investigations to resolve issues across device, process, reliability, and yield domains. - Collaborate with product groups and Kilby Labs to identify new MEMS business opportunities and establish roadmap directions. - Report project updates and technical milestones regularly to management and cross-functional business stakeholders.

What you'll need

- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related engineering field. - 5+ years of experience in MEMS devices for actuation and/or sensing. - Hands-on experience covering MEMS design, layout, finite-element simulation, process flow development, fabrication, and characterization/analysis.

Nice to have

- PhD focused on MEMS devices for actuation and sensing and/or resonator devices. - Strong background in MEMS-related device physics, technology development, and materials/process interactions. - Background in analog circuits, particularly in conjunction with MEMS devices, and equivalent device circuit models. - Track record of qualifying MEMS devices for commercial volume products and familiarity with MEMS packaging flow interactions.
