About the role
Mechatronics systems design engineers are part of a multidisciplinary team that develops metrology equipment used in the semiconductor industry.
What you'll do
- Perform hands-on work with hardware and gather necessary data in the lab or cleanroom. - Work independently on data collection, analysis, calibration, and writing scripts using Python or Matlab. - Define plans for system integration, testing, and troubleshooting. - Conduct experimental design and hardware-in-the-loop experimentation to retire design risks. - Collaborate with the customer support organization, including occasional travel to customer sites (< 10%).
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience, Master's degree with 6 years of related experience, or Doctorate degree with 3 years of related experience. - Understanding of feedback control system design, system identification, signal processing, and their application to control and characterize mechanical systems. - Basic to intermediate knowledge of precision machine design. - Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop experimentation and experimental design. - Proficiency writing scripts for data collection and analysis using Python or Matlab.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of numerical optimization. - Knowledge of image processing.
