About the role
The technician creates electrical and opto-mechanical drawings to support design engineering and production manufacturing. The role works with the Hamilton, NJ design team to generate documentation packages for complex electromechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies.
What you'll do
- Create manufacturing documentation packages for complex electromechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies alongside mechanical designers. - Generate engineering drawings, printed circuit board designs, and assembly prints from hand sketches and verbal instructions using SolidWorks. - Interface with electrical engineers, internal departments, manufacturing partners, and vendors to ensure designs align with manufacturing capabilities. - Manage CAD server models, sketches, and drawings per established structures while maintaining product documentation and engineering change orders. - Review and check drawings for errors and perform design rule checking prior to release.
What you'll need
- Formal drafting training (such as vocational high school, trade school, or community college). - Minimum 1-year experience in a SolidWorks Operator role. - Fluency in SolidWorks, including drawing creation and accuracy. - Knowledge of drafting standards and best practices. - Basic understanding of electronic circuits. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office. - U.S. Person status (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status) per ITAR regulations.
