About the role
This role involves overall system design, vacuum vessel design, ion beam source design, and incorporation of OEM components for advanced wafer processing equipment. You will work on complex wafer processing equipment involving ion beam etch, ion beam deposition, chemical and physical vapor deposition technologies.
What you'll do
- Develop proficiency in mechanical engineering principles, design tools, company processes, and semiconductor equipment technologies.
- Support the design and development of mechanical systems, vacuum assemblies, and precision components for wafer processing equipment.
- Perform engineering analyses and calculations for vacuum process equipment, including heat transfer, structural mechanics, fluid flow, and motion systems.
- Support prototype assembly, testing, debugging, and design verification activities.
- Prepare presentations and participate in technical reviews to improve designs.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, bills of materials, and test reports.
What you'll need
- BS, MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, ProE, or similar 3D CAD system.
Nice to have
- Prior work experience from relevant internships or full-time employment.
- Finite element analysis experience in structural and/or thermal.
- Experience working in Project teams or Research groups.
- Introductory knowledge of Semiconductors, Ion Beam or Vacuum Physics through academic, internship or project work.
- Experience with SAP, or similar PLM system.
