About the role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will leverage your foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to process and resolve mechanical problems, design and implement custom mechanical tooling and associated processes, and enable the handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle.
What you'll do
- Identify and troubleshoot a wide range of complex mechanical problems
- Lead or execute engineering projects, including the development of key suppliers
- Develop, design, or modify engineering layouts, schematics, or drawings/specifications of complex scope
- Coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects
- Define, coordinate, perform, and generate engineering test reports
- Serve as a technical expert on specialized projects or programs
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7-10 years of experience
- Subject-matter expertise with CAD software
- Subject-matter expertise with thermodynamics
- Subject-matter expertise with sheet metal design
- Subject-matter expertise with material selection
- Subject-matter expertise with manufacturing methods
- Subject-matter expertise with GD&T
- Subject-matter expertise with flow analysis
- Subject-matter expertise with Design for Excellence principles
Nice to have
- Knowledge of the Applied Materials product life cycle, including prototyping, packaging, material selection, and manufacturing methods
