About the role
This role involves partnering with Operations to support process improvement efforts for the Optical Filters Business Unit. You will be instrumental in implementing new CNC machines and developing the capabilities of existing equipment.
What you'll do
- Support implementation of new CNC machines.
- Develop capabilities of existing equipment.
- Design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging.
- Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
- Direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication.
What you'll need
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least two years of experience with CNC machines.
- Ability to write G-code programming.
Nice to have
- Experience processing optics and/or glass substrates.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot CNC machines.
- Experience commissioning new CNC machines and developing tailored cutting processes.
- Experience with robotics and automation systems.
- Experience with PLCs.
