Applied Materials has multiple openings in Austin, TX for a Materials Project Manager supporting supply chain operations. The role coordinates product development process deliverables and creates new project materials strategies across matrixed teams.

What you'll do

- Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers, coordinating demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure. - Form the Materials Core Team and coordinate product development process deliverables across buyers, planners, and production control. - Partner with engineering to interpret engineering requirements, identify preliminary critical parts, long-lead components, and build-to-print inspection needs. - Support sourcing through supplier price negotiations, delivery negotiations, supplier risk assessments on unique parts, and performance tracking across delivery, quality, and cost. - Manage the materials change control process, track total landed cost targets, and generate Key Process Indicators. - Resolve supplier quality issues in partnership with engineering and quality teams, escalating to Commodity Business Managers as needed.

What you'll need

- Conceptual and practical expertise in materials project management and supply chain disciplines. - Experience coordinating demand signals through MRP systems and performing make versus buy analyses. - Demonstrated capability managing product development process deliverables across buyers, planners, and production control teams. - Knowledge of supplier risk assessment, price negotiation, and value analysis support such as Should Cost analysis. - Ability to work onsite 100% in Austin, TX.
