About the role
This Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op position focuses on developing and implementing more efficient and effective methods of producing products and processes, with an emphasis on safety, service, quality, and agility through process improvements.
What you'll do
- Evaluate existing processes and implement new processes/automation techniques to improve product flow, part quality, and first pass yields.
- Create/revise part instructions and routings and train production and maintenance personnel.
- Work with production personnel to attain 100% on-time shipping performance.
- Participate in 8D Problem Solving Teams for failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective and preventative action activities.
- Lead projects and ensure all internal and external stakeholder requirements are met.
What you'll need
- Good academic understanding of statistical tools.
- Understanding of Lean and Six-Sigma concepts.
- Knowledge with Six Sigma, process improvements (DOE), Statistical Process Controls, Process capabilities studies, FMEA, process audits, Root Cause analysis, Problem Solving Techniques.
- Skills in Solid Works, Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Currently enrolled student with a major in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering, graduating in December 2026 or later.
