About the role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support new specialized assemblies used on production tools. You will oversee the planning, development, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, and operations, working with product design specialists to achieve maximum manufacturing efficiency.
What you'll do
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust manufacturing processes for specialized mechatronic products.
- Manage MBOMs and maintain reporting systems for traceability of manufacturing operations.
- Interface with design engineering to provide feedback for manufacturability of new product designs based on results from DFMA, PFMEA, serviceability, safety, ergonomics, and modularity analyses.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that impact quality, yield, cost, and throughput.
- Perform root cause investigation and recommend corrective actions to address manufacturing quality escapes, bottlenecks, and excess material consumption.
- Execute cost and capacity analysis to recommend make vs buy strategies for key components.
- Engage with suppliers to address issues that impact the manufacturability of assigned assemblies.
- Design fixtures and develop new or optimize fabrication equipment, including conception of equipment design and evaluation, and developing software and controls for automating and integrating equipment into manufacturing flow.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience; or 5 years with a Master’s degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting capabilities in electromechanical or electrochemical assemblies.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Proficient in DFMA with a structured problem-solving and decision-making approach.
- Experience in Engineering Change Management Process.
- Working knowledge in work instructions, process planning, and Bill of Materials management.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in English.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies as they apply to low volume/high mix products.
- Experience with 3D modeling tools such as Dassault, NX, CREO, or SOLIDWORKS.
- Knowledge of Semiconductor equipment, Capital Equipment industry, and its manufacturing processes.
- Statistical analysis skills, including statistical process control and data analysis used in a production setting.
- Knowledge of basic software coding in Python, C++, LabVIEW, or G-code.
