About the role
The Manufacturing Engineer will support optical instrumentation build and troubleshooting for 4D Technology, including interferometers and other optical instruments for surface characterization and metrology.
What you'll do
- Develop the process control strategy for the optical manufacturing facility.
- Create and maintain manufacturing process documentation for product families, including assembly, alignment, calibration, and test.
- Design and/or specify tools, fixtures, inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
- Develop and optimize assembly, alignment, and test methods.
- Create in-process quality tools for defect prevention.
- Troubleshoot issues to identify root cause and implement corrective actions.
What you'll need
- BS degree in optical science or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience in optical mechanical engineering.
- Experience in handling precision optical components.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of SolidWorks.
- Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing.
- ISO-9000.
