About the role
As a Machine Shop Maintenance Mechanic at MKS, you will work independently and with the Maintenance Team to perform preventive maintenance on machinery essential to keeping the machine shop operating safely and efficiently.
What you'll do
- Perform regular service checks, change fluids and coolants, lubricate moving parts, and replace worn filters and belts.
- Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical issues when machines fail, dismantle equipment, and replace damaged or worn components.
- Adjust and test machinery to ensure it meets precise operating and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, inspections, and parts used in shop logs or computerized maintenance systems.
- Keep tools, work areas, and safety equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
What you'll need
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hands-on mechanical experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong commitment to OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.

- Small engine repair experience.
