About the role
This role involves driving the architecture, design, validation, and commercialization of advanced WLAN PHY solutions, working with cross-functional teams in pre-silicon and post-silicon development phases.
What you'll do
- Lead the design, development, and commercialization of advanced WLAN PHY solutions.
- Drive system architecture, design enhancements, and implementation of key PHY design blocks.
- Lead cross-functional teams in translating system requirements into robust PHY implementations and RTL deliverables.
- Identify post-silicon bring-up issues and drive PHY-layer design improvements based on silicon learnings.
- Collaborate with RF and Analog teams to define RF specifications and develop accurate system-level simulation models.
- Analyze and resolve complex cross-layer issues involving WLAN PHY, MAC, RF, Firmware, and board-level systems.
What you'll need
- Proven experience leading wireless systems or design teams and successfully delivering products from concept to commercial deployment.
- Strong foundation in Communication Theory, Signal Processing, and Wireless Communication Systems.
- Deep understanding of PHY-layer design and algorithms, including carrier detection, timing and frequency synchronization, AGC, filters, demodulators, tracking loops, and decoders.
- In-depth knowledge of RF architectures, RF impairments, and their impact on overall system performance.
- Hands-on experience in post-silicon chip bring-up, validation, and debugging, with proficiency in using lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and lab automation tools.
- Expert-level proficiency in MATLAB and C programming, including fixed-point model development and validation.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using C, GDB, crash analysis, and stack trace debugging techniques.
- Good understanding of wireless communication standards, including IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.15, and 3GPP specifications.
