About the role
This role involves the design and implementation of embedded firmware for AMD networking products.
What you'll do
- Work with architecture specialists to improve future products.
- Apply a data-minded approach to target optimization efforts.
- Participate in new ASIC and FPGA bring ups.
- Debug and fix existing issues, researching alternative, more efficient ways.
- Develop technical relationships with peers and partners.
What you'll need
- Experience working at the hardware/software interface involving networking.
- Programming in C.
- Ability to quickly understand complex hardware and software architectures.
- Experience tackling system-level problems.
- Knowledge of relevant embedded debug techniques and tools.
Nice to have
- Strong object-oriented programming background, C/C++ preferred.
- Proven software experience working at silicon or networking companies.
- Proven commercial experience developing in C / Embedded C.
- Experience of Python and other scripting languages.
- Hardware/software codesign.
- Ethernet & TCP/IP.
- Embedded systems ideally with experience of system software and device drivers.
- Understanding of server system architectures e.g. PCI-Express.
- Experience of Linux systems.
- Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers.
