About the role
This role drives the design and development of high-power InP-based semiconductor lasers for high-speed data communication applications. The position involves hands-on ownership of device design, wafer fabrication launch, and technical coordination across epitaxy, fabrication, assembly, and test teams.
What you'll do
- Lead the design and execution of InP-based semiconductor lasers for high-speed data communication applications. - Take comprehensive hands-on ownership of laser design, including grating, epitaxy, and coating. - Perform device simulation to identify key design variables and establish targets for performance and yield. - Formulate and execute wafer fabrication launches and design test protocols for effective feedback. - Provide technical coordination across internal and external teams covering epitaxy, semiconductor wafer fabrication, assembly, and test. - Track program schedules and milestones, interface with external vendors, and translate customer requirements into laser specifications.
What you'll need
- MSEE in Electrical Engineering or Physics. - 3–5 years of relevant industry experience. - Strong understanding of semiconductor physics, particularly laser physics and operating characteristics. - Working knowledge of semiconductor device fabrication processes. - Hands-on experience with device characterization techniques, including electrical and optical measurements. - Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies, statistical tools, and data analysis.
Nice to have
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics. - Experience with device simulation. - Hands-on experience with semiconductor device fabrication processes.
