About the role
This role is responsible for the development, validation, and introduction of graphite and silicon carbide materials into the field of wide bandgap transistor processing. The focus spans crystal pulling and epitaxial growth processes, characterizing grades of graphite, silicon carbide, and coatings, and validating them in customer equipment.
What you'll do
- Work with potential customers to understand their specific needs, failure modes, and requirements. - Collaborate with internal R&D teams on materials development and synthesis, and characterize different material grades in application environments. - Coordinate with internal FEA modeling teams to evaluate scenarios across different materials combinations. - Manage development schedules and timelines, and develop scale-up plans upon completion of successful validation. - Develop vendor and partner relationships to incorporate outside technologies into the materials portfolio.
What you'll need
- Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience; Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience; or 10+ years of experience in SiC wafer manufacturing, LED manufacturing, or wide bandgap semiconductor processing. - Capacity to comply with federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control law. - Ability for occasional travel globally.
Nice to have
- 3+ years of experience in Project Management. - Applications knowledge in wide bandgap semiconductor processing, SiC crystal growth (PVT), or Si crystal pulling. - Experience with DOE methodologies/tools. - Experience in FEA modeling. - Experience in leading a development effort using stage-gated tracking software. - Experience working in an ISO 9000/14000 environment.
