About the role
This role involves developing DFB laser structures and leading new product introduction activities to ensure a smooth transition from development to volume production.
What you'll do
- Develop DFB laser structures for high optical output power, high efficiency, and high reliability based on semiconductor material physics and optical science.
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) activities from development to volume production.
- Design DFB laser products for yield improvement and cost reduction.
- Design and fabricate submounts for evaluation.
- Evaluate fabricated chips, analyze evaluation data, and prepare technical reports.
What you'll need
- BSc, MSc, or PhD degree in electronics, electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's, or 4+ years with a Master's.
- Knowledge of InP material system and semiconductor material physics.
- Experience in semiconductor laser design and development, including high power DFB laser design, optical simulation, and thermal simulation.
- Fluent Japanese speaker and intermediate English skill.
Nice to have
- Experience in new product introduction (NPI), technology transfer, or development-to-production transition.
- Experience in analyzing large volumes of experimental data using JMP or similar statistical analysis tools.
- Knowledge of semiconductor device reliability.
- Programming skills, such as Excel VBA/macros and Python.
