This role focuses on enhanced laser designs and product design of DFB laser.
About the role
This role involves developing enhanced laser designs and supporting new product introduction, capacity ramp-up, and volume production. You will be responsible for the product design of DFB lasers for yield improvement and cost reduction.
What you'll do
- Develop enhanced laser designs to improve existing products using semiconductor material physics and optical science.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), capacity ramp-up, and stable volume production.
- Design and fabricate necessary parts for evaluation, such as submounts.
- Evaluate fabricated chips, analyze evaluation data, and prepare technical reports.
- Provide customer technical support and present technical results.
What you'll need
- BSc, MSc, or PhD degree in electronics, electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 4+ years with a Master's degree.
- Knowledge of compound semiconductors such as InP material system and material physics.
- 2-3 years’ experience in semiconductor laser design and development.
- Experience in product design for yield improvement and cost reduction of semiconductor laser diode.
- Experience in analyzing large volumes of experimental data using JMP or similar statistical analysis tools.
- Knowledge of semiconductor device reliability.
- Fluent Japanese speaker and intermediate English skill.
Nice to have
- Programming skills, such as Excel VBA/macros and Python.
