About the role
This role involves validating Analog front end design used in physical medium devices and Photonics Integrated circuits.
What you'll do
- Develop hardware for chip-level and/or sub-system level performance evaluation/validation.
- Execute engineering validation plan for Optoelectronic components (TIAs & modulator Drivers).
- Design hardware platform for validating chips and system.
- Code/script to automate measurements in Python.
- Verify and troubleshoot board level or chip level design.
- Document design/validation results and generate reports.
What you'll need
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree in CE, EE, or a related field with an expected graduation date of Fall 2027 – Summer 2028.
Nice to have
- Strong fundamentals in RF and Microwave Engineering (S-parameters) & Devices (Filters, Splitters/ Combiners, Travelling wave amplifiers).
- Transistor-level Analog design.
- Knowledge of common building blocks & functions: OpAmps, Digital logic.
- Understanding of Communication Theories – modulations, noise, SNR, digital signal processing, equalization techniques, Q-factor, BER.
- Experience with Digital System engineering – signaling and synchronization.
- Programming experience with Python, C.
- Exposure to Matlab and ADS.
- Experience with Silicon Photonics.
- Hands-on lab work using test and measurement equipment (VNA, Oscilloscope, Spectrum analyzer, and in circuit emulator).
