About the role
Intel Architecture (IA) Core Post Silicon Validation Engineers are responsible for core-level validation of CPU products for Intel P-Core designs within the All Cores Engineering (ACE) Group. This team delivers P-Core IP solutions for Xeon Server products targeted at Data Center and Cloud platforms.
What you'll do
- Execute CPU post-silicon debug and core-level validation. - Develop validation plans and utilize test generators for core-level testing. - Participate in powering on initial systems built with new CPU designs. - Validate product features and identify, isolate, and debug functional bugs. - Apply validation techniques including emulation across hardware and software boundaries. - Support the definition of Intel features alongside architecture and microarchitecture teams.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 6+ years of experience, a Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience, or a PhD with 2+ years of experience. - Experience with C++, Perl, or Python. - Demonstrated background in CPU architecture and assembly language. - Experience with post-silicon debug.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Machine Check Architecture (MCA). - Familiarity with Reliability Availability Serviceability (RAS) or Soft Error Rate (SER). - Experience with emulation. - Understanding of chip logical validation concepts and methodologies.
