About the role
As a Senior Field Process Engineer, you will be an on-site process application expert focused on improving process performance and stability on ASM toolsets at customer locations. You will support Thermal Atomic Layer Deposition (tALD), Plasma-Enhanced Atomic Layer Deposition (PEALD), or Low-Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition (LPCVD) on ASM’s XP8 DCM/QCM or SONORA platforms.
What you'll do
- Lead on-site process qualification and optimization during tool installations and ramp-up.
- Track and verify compliance with customer specifications throughout installation, ramp-up, and warranty phases.
- Design and execute experiments to improve film quality, uniformity, and throughput.
- Troubleshoot process issues using a systematic root cause analysis.
- Partner with customer teams and internal ASM teams to drive continuous improvement and tool-to-tool matching.
- Develop and maintain relevant technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll need
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with tALD, PEALD, or LPCVD processes, vacuum systems, metrology, and semiconductor manufacturing.
- Strong design of experiments (DOE) and experimental analysis skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Strong understanding of intellectual property (IP) boundaries and confidentiality requirements.
Nice to have
- High-volume manufacturing (HVM) experience.
- Familiarity with ASM platforms.
- Demonstrated success optimizing deposition processes in development or manufacturing environments.
