What you'll do
- Monitor and optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield, quality, efficiency, and overall equipment efficiency.
- Analyze process performance using Statistical Process Control (SPC), Fault Detection and Classification (FDC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and other engineering methodologies.
- Lead issue resolution activities for processes, tools, defects, yield, and output-related concerns.
- Develop, update, and maintain operational procedures, checklists, documentation, and training materials.
- Apply AI-enabled analytics tools, data visualization platforms, and engineering software to identify process improvement opportunities.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related engineering field or equivalent experience.
- More than 2 years’ experience as a semiconductor process engineer.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment on 12-hour shifts, rotating 3-4 workdays per week and day to night every four months.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Building of Experiments (DOE), and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Proficiency with one or more programming, scripting, analytics, or visualization tools such as Python, Java, MATLAB, Tableau, or Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience analyzing complex manufacturing or engineering data and making process-related decisions based on technical findings.
Nice to have
- Experience with data collection systems, data warehousing, data cleansing and querying.
- Hands-on experience applying data analytics techniques to support engineering, manufacturing, or operational improvements.
- Working knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes, processing equipment, and supporting systems.

How we counted: 1040 open Process Engineering (Semiconductor Process) roles from 60 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 21 Sept 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Process, Fab & Equipment family row.
