About the role
This role focuses on High Performance DSP core Implementation and Synthesis within ASICs Engineering. You will be involved in IP (block/SoC) development for high performance, high quality, low power products.
What you'll do
- Apply in-depth knowledge of Physical Synthesis and Synthesis methodologies.
- Write timing constraints for synthesis, STA, timing closure, and pipelining.
- Perform timing closure for multi-clock domain designs.
- Implement low-power design using UPF.
- Work independently with design, DFT, and PD teams for netlist delivery and timing constraints validation.
- Handle ECOs and formal verification.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field and 3+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or a related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Synthesis and LEC.
- Experience with writing timing constraints for synthesis, STA, timing closure, and pipelining.
- Familiarity with MCMM synthesis and optimization.
- Good understanding of low-power design implementation using UPF.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Perl/Python, TCL.
- Proficiency in Python/Tcl.
- Familiarity with Synthesis tools (Fusion Compiler/Genus).
- Fair knowledge in LEC and LP signoff tools.
- Proficiency in VLSI front end design steps: Verilog/VHDL, Synthesis, QoR optimization, and Equivalence Checking.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with standard software engineering practices like Version Control, Configuration Management, and Regression.
Skills: Synthesis, LEC, timing constraints, STA, timing closure, low-power design

How we counted: 601 open Physical Design (Physical Design) roles from 78 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 18 Sept 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Physical Implementation family row. Figures refresh nightly.
