Work on GPU experiences in the AI domain.
About the role
As a GPU Software Engineer, you will develop, validate, debug, and optimize graphics software and GPU driver solutions across Intel platforms. You will develop hands-on expertise across GPU architecture, graphics drivers, validation, debugging, performance, compute, and AI workloads.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute end-to-end validation solutions for GPU software, graphics drivers, and applications.
- Debug and resolve complex software, driver, and system-level issues impacting GPU functionality, quality, and performance.
- Triage defects, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with software and hardware engineering teams to drive issues to resolution.
- Develop and maintain software, automation, and debugging tools that improve validation efficiency and product quality.
- Optimize software performance, memory efficiency, and quality for emerging AI workloads, deep learning inference, and agentic applications.
- Enable and validate forthcoming AI hardware acceleration capabilities for Intel's GPU platforms.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in the field with 1+ years of relevant experience.
- Software development using C, C++, or Python.
- Experience with AI validation workloads such as LLM inference evaluation and agentic framework integration.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and runtimes such as PyTorch, OpenVINO, ONNX Runtime, or TensorFlow.
- Experience with industry-standard APIs and frameworks such as DirectX, OpenGL, OpenCL, or Vulkan.
Nice to have
- Experience with validation, triage, or debugging computer graphics hardware and software.
- Expertise in optimizing GPU compute software for throughput and latency (e.g., operator fusion, KV-cache optimization, low-bit quantization like INT4/INT8/FP8).
- Familiarity with cross-OS profiling and debug tools such as WinDbg, GPUView, GDB, Intel VTune, emulators, or JTAG-debuggers.
- Experience with CI/CD practices, automated validation frameworks, and containerized cross-platform testing environments.

How we counted: 238 open Infrastructure/Platform Software (GPU Software Stack) roles from 19 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 9 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Software, Firmware & Systems family row.
