About the role
This role involves inventing and implementing programming models and runtime environments for high performance computing systems comprised of heterogeneous processors, accelerators, and scale-up/scale-out networks.
What you'll do
- Invent, design, and implement programming models and runtime environments for high performance computing systems.
- Implement software solutions and demonstrate their effectiveness on prototype hardware.
- Work on software enhancements to improve programmer productivity.
- Drive research project results into product roadmaps.
- Collaborate with AMD Research and Advanced Development teams, product groups, and vendor partners.
- Submit patentable inventions.
What you'll need
- Experience in developing and debugging GPU and/or multi-threaded CPU applications.
- Strong skills in C/C++, Python and/or GPU programming.
- Experience with High Performance Computing networking.
- Demonstrated experience in ideation, evaluation, and optimization of a research project.
- PhD degree in Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering.
Nice to have
- Distributed system experience.
- Prior exposure to ML/HPC/datacenter software, middleware and device driver development.
- Familiarity with ML frameworks, OpenSHMEM, or MPI programming models.
- Experience with networking simulation platforms (NS-3, OMNeT++, etc.).
- Experience with the AMD ROCm software stack.
- Version control systems such as Git.
